Joris Lohman (1985) is the chairman of the Youth Food Movement (part of Slow Food Youth Network) in the Netherlands. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Slow Food International, holding the position of Slow Food Youth Network representative. In 2011 he co-founded the Food Film Festival Amsterdam. ‘Slow Food Youth Network is an interdisciplinairy network of chefs, farmers, retailers, nutritionists and other food professionals, that are actively trying to change the future of food and farming. We envision a world were good, clean and fair food is available for everyone. Raining awareness amongst consumers, educating the food professionals of the future and bridging the gap between producer and consumer is crucial in creating a sustainable food system.’ In the last years, Joris holds a masters degree in Political Science of the University of Amsterdam and the Université Paris VII in Paris.
