The Manifest Lima to Paris is a contribution of the South American group, member of the Alliance for Responsible and Sustainable Societies. The document will be submitted to the organizing committee of the COP21.
The aim is to: ” “Propose the urgent adoption a “Universal Declaration of Human Responsibilities”. Such Declaration will govern the relations between states and peoples, will be shared promoted to all sectors of society and will be the basis of international laws of responsibility. There are indispensable to acknowledge our interdependencies and make us, people of the world, a community of destiny.”
The Manifest Lima to Paris was presented at the meeting “What responsibility the world needs to face climate change? For a new environmental governance”, which took place in the Andean Community in Lima, Peru, on December 11, 2014, during the People’s Summit, a civil society event parallel to COP20, the UN Climate Summit.
It should be taken as start for a sustained call for support, with local and regional meetings taking place worldwide to discuss this proposal before the COP21 in Paris (29 November – 11 December 2015).
